I travelled to Adelaide for the opening of Trent Parke’s extraordinary exhibition opening ‘The Black Rose’ at the Art Gallery of South Australia. I’ve long admired Parke’s photographs – I’ve often seen his work at Stills Gallery in Sydney near where I live. When I read about the exhibition, I couldn’t resist writing about the tantalising link in his work between amnesia, memory and photography. I profiled Parke for The Saturday Paper, here.
